At this year’s Bašta Fest, we organize the fifth Bašta Pitch, a workshop for young filmmakers and producers to present projects for short fiction films. This is the first step, preparation for further presentations of their works, which await them throughout their career in the film financing process.

Five projects were selected from the registered candidates and the directors and producers from Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia will go through the preparation for the final pitch (presentation) in several days of work with mentors. On the last day of the festival, the winner will be chosen, and the main prize is monetary, for starting work on their project. Ten participants will work with mentors producer Milan Stojanović and director Rasko Miljković from Serbia. The jury that will choose the Bašta Pitch winner consists of directors Mina Đukić, Radivoje Raša Andrić, and the Festival’s Artistic director Maja Šuša.

The participants of the fifth Bašta Pitch are:

“Oblak u pantalonama” – director Jovan Ilić, producer Katarina Bugarin (Serbia)

“Jebeš suzu u oku, pusti je niz obraz” – director Sara Radulović, producer Rastko Stojanović (Serbia,
Montenegro)

“Nikola, Nikola” – director Leon Ristov, producer Angela Dimeska (North Macedonia)

“Trešnje” – director Balša Leković, producer Aleksandra Kočijašević (Serbia, Montenegro)

“Vera večna” – director Adem Tutić, producer Tamara Tomašević (Serbia)

In addition to educating young filmmakers, the festival is dedicated to educating the young local audience. Before the start of the festival, the program “Who’s Who – Careers in Film and Theater” will be held for high school students from Bajina Bašta, during which producers Milan Stojanović and Jelena Knežević will present film and theater careers and guide young people to the possibilities and options of work in these fields.

Bašta Fest has been in touch with the young local audience, and we discovered that there are many young people interested in working in film or theater industry, who did not have the opportunity to be educated and informed about these professions. In this way, we want to bring studying and working in these fields closer to them and encourage young people to engage in culture.
