Bašta Fest, together with regional partners Drim Short Film Festival (Struga, North Macedonia) and Seanema Film Festival (Ulcinj, Montenegro), has founded BALKAN SHORT FILM NETWORK, which aims to educate young filmmakers and promote short film in the region.

The three partners are united around the same goals – decentralising culture, raising awareness of the importance of short film as an art form, and empowerment and providing the platform for young filmmakers. All partner festivals happen during the summer and in nature, another vital segment of our programs. We will collaborate to achieve these goals through a series of activities, and the first and currently largest project is the expansion of our educational program Bašta Pitch.

After many successful years, the educational and industry program of the Bašta Fest continues at the international level through a unique platform for the multi-level empowerment of young filmmakers. Through workshops and mentoring, eminent film artists from the region will provide participants with the necessary knowledge for the most efficient development and presentation of their projects.
