The tenth edition of Bašta Fest, an international short fiction film festival in Bajina Bašta, was officially opened by actress Milena Radulović on June 29 at Open Air Borići, after which films from the competition program of the festival were shown. The founders of the festival, actors Maja Šuša and Jovan Jelisavčić, addressed the attendees.

Maja Šuša said at the opening of the festival: “I am very happy and excited that we are gathering at this place for the 10th time. This year’s slogan of the festival “You can do everything”, apart from reminding us of the line of Zdravko Čolić song (famous Yugoslav pop singer), wants to convey what is also our basic message – to believe that with work, effort and investment, everything is possible, and we hope that with our example, we can encourage young artists and other local initiatives not to give up on their dreams.”

Jovan Jelisavčić pointed out: “I’m glad to see a large number of colleagues who are here tonight, who have been coming back to the festival for years. Regardless of my position, as the founder and director of the festival, this is our generational thing. I feel that we created Bašta Fest together, we as someone who organized the festival, and you as someone who has unconditionally supported it for years. That connection was a prerequisite for this festival to
succeed. Thank you for your friendship”. Jelisavčić also thanked the Ministry of Culture, the municipality of Bajina Bašta and Film Center Serbia for their help, as well as the new sponsors of the festival, Jameson, which has been supporting the event since this year.

Actress Milena Radulović opened the festival with the words: “Thank you to Jovan Jelisavčić and Maja Šuša for inviting me to celebrate the 10th birthday of Bašta Fest together! A decade of good energy for young people from Serbia and the world is already a tradition of this beautiful city. The Jubilee 10th Bašta Fest is open!”
