The twelfth edition of Bašta Fest, an international short feature film festival taking place from July 3 to 6, 2025, in Bajina Bašta, will be opened by actress Nevena Nerandžić. This continues the previously established tradition that a young actor or actress, who experienced great success in the previous year, opens a new edition of this short fiction film festival. She stood out in roles in the series “Bad Blood”, “V Effect”, “Carousel”, “Krunska 11”, and “The Defender”, as well as in the films “Manja” and “Jenga, a strange game”.

Regarding her participation in the festival, Nevena Nerandžić said: “For years, I have heard a lot about Bašta Fest, about the fireworks of energy and emotions that occupy Bajina Bašta for a couple of days, and I had the opportunity to see it all by myself for the first time two years ago. I was there for the entire festival, and it’s a small thing to say, but I am delighted. When Maja and Jovan invited me to open the festival this year, I started screaming into Jovan’s phone with happiness. It is a great honor for me that they chose me and that I can be part of that story again, now in this way.”

Speaking about the qualities of the festival, she added: “There is something special in the atmosphere of the Bašta Fest. There is no festival like it. Apart from fantastic films, which you normally don’t have many opportunities to see, you find yourself in a group of wonderful people who love what they do and put all their efforts and a lot of love into this festival. I think that’s the main thing you feel when you’re there. Love in art. Love for art. Love in general.”

In previous years, Bašta Fest was opened by Nikola Rakočević, Slaven Došlo, Marko Janketić, Hana Selimović, Milan Marić, Isidora Simijonović, Filip Đurić, Ivana Vuković, Milica Janevski, Mladen Sovilj, Milena Radulović and Ivana Zečević.
